Interim Estates and Asset Manager
Castle Point Borough Council (Office:based 3:5 days per week)
GBP 400: GBP 450 per day (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Initial 6:month contract
We are working with Castle Point Borough Council who are looking to appoint an experienced Interim Estates and Asset Manager.
This is a hands:on leadership role where youll take ownership of the Councils non:housing property portfolio, ensuring compliance, driving performance, and leading a capable Estates and Asset team.
The Role
Youll be responsible for delivering an effective and commercially focused Estates Management function across a varied portfolio of council:owned assets which ranges from occupied buildings to leased and vacant properties.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Estates Management service across all non:housing assets
Provide strong line management, direction and development to the Estates and Asset team
Manage contracts, suppliers and external consultants, ensuring high:quality service delivery
Oversee statutory compliance and maintain accurate property records and asset data
Proactively manage leases, rent reviews, and other property events
Act as a key liaison with Essex County Council (Highways)
Support emergency planning and attend occasional out:of:hours meetings
Carry out property inspections and surveys as required
About You
UK Resident
Minimum 3 years local government experience within estates/asset management.
A relevant degree and professional membership (RICS, IWFM/BIFM or equivalent)
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Strong understanding of Landlord and Tenant legislation and contract law
Experience engaging with elected Members and senior stakeholders
A track record of managing teams and driving performance
Experience overseeing external consultants and governance processes
