The University of Hull is evolving — and our estate sits at the heart of that transformation. As we modernise our campuses, enhance our student and staff experience, and unlock new commercial opportunities, we are seeking an outstanding Head of Property to lead the strategic management and development of our diverse property and land portfolio.
This is a pivotal leadership role, driving value, performance, and innovation across our estate. You’ll spearhead commercialisation, oversee compliant operations, and shape redevelopment that supports our long-term ambitions.
What you’ll lead
* Strategic and compliant leadership of the University’s freehold, leasehold and licensed property portfolio
* Driving estate commercialisation, income growth and long‑term value through active asset management
* Identification and delivery of redevelopment, adaptive reuse and utilisation opportunities aligned to campus and financial objectives
* Development of robust business cases, valuations and investment appraisals to support major property decisions
* End‑to‑end leadership of property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals and lettings
* Ownership of the lease event programme, tenant performance and covenant management
* Strategic coordination of planning activity and relationships with local authorities and regulators
* Leadership of property compliance, assurance and risk management across the estate
* Commissioning and performance management of external professional and legal advisers
What you’ll bring
You’ll be an expert in estate transactions, landlord and tenant matters, commercial property management and strategic planning. Comfortable advising senior leaders and managing complex negotiations, you’ll combine commercial acumen with strong governance, stakeholder engagement and a commitment to delivering great campus experiences.
Why join us?
You’ll play a key role in enabling the University’s strategic vision, contributing to a modern, sustainable and high‑performing estate. This is an opportunity to shape a significant portfolio, drive meaningful change and make a lasting impact.
