If so, GSL Education are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Portslade. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children succeed academically and socially.
Role Overview:
As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with teachers and other school staff to support students in the classroom, helping them to stay engaged and make progress in their learning. You may support the whole class, work in small groups, or provide 1:1 assistance to students those who needs extra help.
Responsibilities of Teaching Assistant:
Collaborate with the class teacher to support the planning and delivery of engaging and effective lessons.
Assist in the preparation, organisation, and maintenance of teaching resources.
Promote and maintain positive behaviour in accordance with the school’s behaviour policy, fostering a respectful and supportive classroom environment.
Observe and record student’s progress, contributing to assessment and planning discussions with teaching staff.
Adhere to all school policies and procedures, with particular attention to safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety regulations.
Role Requirements:
A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
Previous experience working in a primary or secondary school setting as Teaching Assistant is advantageous.
A good understanding of the curriculum and classroom expectations.
Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use your initiative when needed.
Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
