About the Role We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and experienced Family Support Worker to support families, children, young people, and vulnerable individuals in the Weston-super-Mare area.This role focuses on providing practical, emotional, and person-centred support to help families overcome challenges, improve wellbeing, build resilience, and promote independence. You will work closely with individuals experiencing social, emotional, behavioural, or practical difficulties, helping them access appropriate services and achieve positive outcomes.This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with backgrounds in support work, supported living, residential care, youth work, family intervention, or community support.Key Responsibilities Provide practical and emotional support to families, children, and young peopleSupport service users in developing independence, life skills, routines, and confidenceBuild positive professional relationships based on trust, empathy, and respectWork with families facing social, emotional, behavioural, or practical challengesSupport with accessing education, healthcare appointments, housing support, benefits advice, and community resourcesEncourage positive parenting approaches and healthy family relationships where appropriateSupport individuals with emotional wellbeing and behavioural needsConduct or contribute to risk assessments, support plans, and progress reviewsMaintain accurate case notes, reports, and safeguarding documentationIdentify safeguarding concerns and follow appropriate proceduresLiaise with social workers, healthcare professionals, schools, and external agenciesPromote inclusion, resilience, and positive outcomes for service usersFollow all client and agency policies and proceduresRequirements Essential Previous experience as a Support Worker, Family Support Worker, Youth Worker, Residential Support Worker, Key Worker, or similarExperience supporting children, young people, adults, or families in a care or support environmentGood understanding of safeguarding children and vulnerable adultsStrong communication and relationship-building skillsCompassionate, patient, and resilient approachAbility to manage challenging situations professionallyExperience with care planning, risk assessments, and record keepingRight to work in the UKEnhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)Desirable NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, Children & Young People, Social Care, or equivalentExperience in family intervention, youth support, supported living, or community outreachKnowledge of trauma-informed practiceExperience supporting individuals with mental health needs, autism, learning disabilities, or behavioural challengesFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicleWhat We Offer Competitive hourly payFlexible agency opportunitiesWeekly payDedicated consultant supportOngoing opportunities with reputable clientsFast registration and onboarding processTraining and development opportunitiesTPBN1_UKTJ
