The successful candidate will be part of the out of hours on-call consultant rota (1 in 15) and paid at 3% on call supplement

South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust are recruiting for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Psychiatry Intensive Care Unit (PICU) based at Fieldhead Hospital, Ouchthorpe Lane, Wakefield. This role plays a vital part in ensuring our patients receive the care that they need and will be an integral role within the Wakefield Acute Care Pathway. Walton PICU Ward is a 14-bed adult psychiatry intensive care unit (PICU) based at the Unity Centre, Fieldhead Hospital in Wakefield.

Qualifications
Essential
* MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
Desirable
* Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
* MRCPsych.
* Additional clinical qualifications
Experience
Essential
* Excellent knowledge in specialty.
* Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
* Ability to work in and lead team.
* Demonstrate commitment to shared leadership and collaborative working to deliver improvement.
* Participated in continuous professional development.
* Participated in research or service evaluation.
* Able to lead Case-Based Discussion Groups.
Desirable
* Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service.
* Able to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post.
* Evidence of achievement in education, research, audit and service improvement: awards, prizes, presentations and publications.

Eligibility
Essential
* Fully registered with the GMC and have a licence to practise or be in a position to have a licence to practice on commencement in the post.
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register for General Psychiatry, or within six months of gaining CCT.
* Approved or eligible clinician status.
* Approved or eligible under S12.
Desirable
* In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice.
