Role Title: Job Coach
Location: Ysbyty Wrexham Maelor Hospital/Yale
Contract Type: Term time only: Fixed-term to 18/06/2027. 77% 37 hours per week
Salary: £29,451 - £32,236 ( this is the full time salary, salary will be pro rata depending on working pattern)
Are you passionate about empowering young people and helping them achieve their career dreams? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Independent Living Skills team at Ysbyty Wrexham Maelor Hospital as a Job Coach.
Your main objective is to facilitate the training and integration of Supported interns into an onsite department rotation at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital and/or competitive work environment, to ensure they thrive and succeed.
As a Job coach you will support the recruitment of interns to the host business including interviews, initial assessments, on-boarding and inductions. Using job coaching techniques to support young people’s development towards employment.
It will be essential to provide tailored training and support, including job coaching, building natural supports, and identifying reasonable adjustments and assistive technologies.
The Job Coach will be expected to record intern progress on approved systems to ensure that the intern journey meets individual targets.
The successful candidate will work with interns, employers, families, tutor and the Curriculum Director, steering group partners and other appropriate parties to problem solve issues related to training and employment where necessary.
Essential Requirements
1. Level 2 English and Maths qualifications (or equivalent) at Grade 4 (C) or above
2. Currently holds a Level 2 Digital Literacy or is willing to work towards
3. Relevant Level 3 qualification
4. Proven experience as a job coach
5. Experience in implementing employment plans
6. Knowledge and experience of working and supporting young people with additional learning needs
7. Demonstrate a good level of IT competence. Must be able to navigate the Internet and Intranets as well as being willing to learn how to use new IT packages and systems
8. Able to work as part of a wider team, and be flexible and adaptable when required
9. Able to plan and manage own workload, ensuring deadlines are met
10. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
11. Ability to inspire and motivate
Welsh skills are desirable for this specific post. We are seeking candidates who can help us grow our bilingual provision and service.
