Join a leading independent technology and services provider as a Technician 2!Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to provide basic to intermediate-level desktop installation, configuration, support, and troubleshooting services. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in hardware and software support within a desktop infrastructure environment.Location: Doncaster DN4 5PQRate: An hourly rate, in-scope IR35, of £ (PAYE) OR £ per hour (via a Hays Approved Umbrellapany).Contract Length: up to 31st March 2026Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (9:00 – 17:30)Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide desktop hardware installation services requiring basic technical skills for service delivery solutions.
2. Unbox and install equipment at desks, ensuring proper placement and setup.
3. Connect peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and monitors.
4. Connect necessary cables (, power and network) to ensure functionality.
5. Perform relevant power-on self-tests to verify hardware readiness.
6. Initiate basic steps for automated builds when required.
7. Execute simple scripted post-login configurations as part of setup.
8. Work variable shift patterns based on business requirements.
Key Requirements:
9. Maintain and update system records, primarily using ServiceNow.
10. Ensure strict adherence to established procedures, scripts, and policies.
11. Demonstrate flexibility in working days when required (minimal changes with prior notice).
12. Hold a current UK driving license (mandatory requirement).
