Description
Priory Hospital Solihull is looking to recruit a Catering Assistant to join the team. This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week with a flexible working rota; shifts will be discussed at interview. The role requires working on weekends and bank holidays, and candidates must have a full driver's license and be able to drive.
Located in Meriden, Warwickshire, Priory Hospital Solihull is a 31-bedded hospital supporting the NHS by offering level 2 rehabilitation services for males.
What you'll be doing
You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. Your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, but your contribution is vital in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment. You will assist with day-to-day operations, help keep things organized, and ensure our spaces are well looked after, contributing to a positive experience for residents and staff.
* Assist catering staff with preparation and cooking of meals according to company policies and procedures.
* Take responsibility for parts of the catering operation under supervision.
* Ensure the kitchen and related areas meet hygiene standards and comply with safety policies.
* Amend services to meet the needs of the site.
* Help reduce waste to improve value for money.

What you'll bring to the role
Resilience and empathy are key qualities. The role involves responding to routine enquiries from colleagues and residents, working in a busy kitchen environment with various equipment, and performing repetitive tasks that require sustained physical effort. Experience in catering is not essential, as full training will be provided. Maintaining confidentiality, security, and accuracy of records is also important.
