Advanced Clinical Pharmacist – Medicines Information & Women’s Health

Great things are happening in our Hospital Pharmacy Services across University Hospitals Liverpool Group (UHLG). UHLG is one of the largest and most complex NHS organisations in the UK, serving a large, diverse, and deprived population.

Following a successful business case, we're expanding our services at Liverpool Women's Hospital (LWH) - and we're thrilled to offer several new roles to support our passionate and dedicated pharmacy team.

We are currently seeking a motivated, forward-thinking pharmacist to play a key role in shaping a brand-new Medicines Information (MI) service at LWH. This role also offers the chance to provide clinical pharmacy support across the Gynaecology and Maternity Divisions (Women's Health).

This is a fantastic development opportunity for a pharmacist with a keen interest in Medicines Information, looking to grow their leadership capabilities. If you enjoy rising to a challenge, take pride in delivering high-quality patient care, and can demonstrate excellent clinical knowledge and communication skills - we'd love to hear from you.

Be part of something special. Help us shape the future of women's healthcare in Liverpool.

Main duties of the job

As the MI Pharmacist, you'll take the lead in developing and delivering a brand-new MI service at LWH. This is a unique opportunity to build and manage a vital service from the ground up, while working closely with established MI centres across UHLG.

In this dynamic role, you will:

* Establish and manage the MI service at LWH
* Provide expert pharmaceutical advice to both patients and staff within the specialist clinical area of Women's Health
* Lead on clinical audit for the MI service and contribute to wider departmental audits
* Support education and training for pharmacy and clinical staff, especially in MI-related areas
* Provide line management and mentorship to junior pharmacists within the department
* Act as an independent prescriber, in line with Trust policies.

This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist looking to expand their influence, develop leadership skills, and make a lasting impact on specialist women's health services.

About us

Liverpool Women's NHS FT became part of NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group (UHLG) in November 2024, following the coming together with Liverpool University Hospitals NHS FT. UHLG was born from a shared aim to improve the care we provide to our patients.

At Liverpool Women's Hospital, each year we deliver approximately 7,500 babies, carry out around 50,000 gynaecological inpatient and outpatient procedures, care for over 1,000 poorly and premature newborns, perform around 1,000 IVF cycles, and conduct over 4,000 genetic appointments.

We believe that this, along with a strong dedication to research and innovation, makes usthespecialist health provider of choice in Europe for women, babies and families.
