Overview
NHS Lanarkshire is recruiting a Locum Consultant Community Paediatrician for an 18‑month temporary post. The role aims to strengthen community paediatric services, improve waiting lists and support a service‑improvement project.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with the paediatric team, Service Manager and Clinical Lead to assess, prioritise and manage patients on the waiting list.
* Improve return appointments for existing community paediatric patients and increase clinical capacity.
* Contribute to clinical governance, documentation and report progress monitoring.
* Collaborate on sustainability of improvements within the Community Paediatric Service.
* Participate in quality‑improvement, patient‑safety (including human‑factors training), medical education, research & development activities as appropriate.
* Serve as an appraiser and provide educational support for medical students in partnership with the University of Glasgow.
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration and licence to practise.
* Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCPH).
* Experience in community paediatrics is preferred but not mandatory.
* Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, education or research.
