Job Title: Children's Support Worker - Waking Nights (Learning Disabilities)
Location: Woolston, Southampton
Salary: From £27,580 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 39 hours per week, working permanent nights
About the Role
We are seeking Night Support Workers with experience in working with young people with learning disabilities and/or autism to join our Ofsted-rated 'Good' home. The successful candidate will be part of a caring family environment, supporting children and young people with LD, Autism, ADHD, and medical conditions. Your role will involve providing encouragement, patience, understanding, and fostering their growth and development.
Responsibilities and Duties
1. Monitor young people throughout the night and support with personal care as needed.
2. Perform domestic duties such as cleaning and laundry.
3. Support young people during times of emotional difficulty, with extensive training provided.
4. Ensure the safety and security of the young people and the home at night.
5. Work with children or adults with learning disabilities, Autism, challenging behaviors, and complex needs.
6. Demonstrate patience, kindness, and understanding.
7. Communicate effectively, including experience with or supporting Makaton or other communication methods for individuals with communication difficulties.
