We are seeking a teacher who has previous experience teaching RE. This role is full time and to start ASAP. This role will run until the end of term in December but has potential to be extended. The successful RE teacher must: Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification. Have experience teaching RE across KS3 and KS4 (KS5/GCSE Religious Studies experience desirable). Demonstrate strong subject knowledge of major world religions and non-religious worldviews, ethics and philosophy, and deliver balanced, objective RE in line with the agreed syllabus. Plan and deliver engaging, well-sequenced lessons that differentiate for a range of abilities and develop substantive knowledge (religions/beliefs), disciplinary thinking (theology/philosophy/social sciences), analysis and extended evaluation. Use effective assessment to identify misconceptions, track progress and inform next steps for all learners, including EAL and SEND. Contribute to extracurricular opportunities such as philosophy/ethics clubs, interfaith projects, visiting speakers, educational visits to places of worship, assemblies and whole-school initiatives (SMSC). Show a willingness to go ‘above and beyond' to support pupils' personal development, reflection, tolerance and aspirations. Be a collaborative team player, building positive relationships with colleagues, pupils, families and the wider community.
