Offer description

Prestwick Care is currently recruiting for a Deputy Manager to work at Melton House.

The successful candidate will oversee and maintain the care of residents within the care home. In the absence of the Home Manager, they will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the care home and ensure all company policies, procedures, and legal requirements are adhered to within the specified timescales.


Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual care plans for service users, and assist care staff in their responsibilities.
2. Take responsibility for all clinical decisions.
3. Carry out all nursing interventions professionally and in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct for nurses.
4. Ensure all documentation is completed and evaluated as required by the care home, in a timely manner, and in accordance with Prestwick Care and NMC standards.
5. Ensure all staff contribute effectively to the efficient running of the care home and create an atmosphere conducive to residents' best interests.
6. Interact with residents to meet their healthcare needs and resolve any issues appropriately.
7. Order, receive, store, administer, support self-administration, and dispose of medication according to company policies.
8. Practice maximum integrity in dealings with residents' personal and financial affairs, avoiding any abuse of the privileged relationship.
9. Ensure the care home operates in compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
10. Implement and initiate induction training for all staff members.
11. Be on call for advice and action in emergencies outside of regular hours.
12. Adhere to and assist with the implementation of all HR policies and procedures.
13. Liaise with external professionals such as social workers and GPs.
14. Assist the Home Manager with all aspects of the home's operation.
15. In the absence of the Home Manager, take responsibility for the home's management.


What we are looking for:

* Strong care home experience
* First-level nurse qualification
* Previous management or supervisory experience
* Team player
* Satisfactory DBS check, employment references, and check against the ISA list (where applicable)
