Bellway is now welcoming applications for the next intake of its Apprenticeship Programme, starting 3 September 2026, with opportunities for Apprentice Engineers in the West Midlands division (Tamworth) .
Your Role
Bellway’s Technical team is involved before land is purchased, producing detailed plans to ensure building materials are sourced and delivered at the right time.
As an Apprentice Engineer, you’ll learn to:
* Deliver technical information for new and existing developments
* Carry out engineering-related work
* Liaise with Local Authorities and Water Authorities
* Design roads, drainage and external works for smaller developments
* Work closely with the Construction team
Career Pathways
Subject to business needs and performance, successful completion of the programme may lead to continued employment with Bellway.
Engineering career pathways may include:
* Senior Engineer
* Engineering / Technical Manager
* Head of Technical
* Technical Director

* Starting salary: £22,000
o Increases from 6 months, linked to performance milestones

What We’re Looking For
* 96 UCAS Tariff points from a combination of Level 3 qualifications
o Maths is mandatory
* Level 2 qualifications in Maths and English (e.g. GCSE Grade 4 / C or above)
* Willingness to travel and stay away from home occasionally
* A flexible attitude and eagerness to learn
* Legal right to work in the UK
o This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship
o Eligibility checks form part of the recruitment process

About the Apprenticeship
Qualification
* Level 6 BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering
Training
Delivered by Teesside University using a block-release model .
* On-campus attendance up to three times per semester
* Remaining learning delivered via weekly online sessions
* Campus location: Teesside University, Southfield Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 3BX
* Travel and accommodation are fully funded by Bellway
Duration
* Up to 5 years, plus End Point Assessment
