Overview
We're looking for a Design Engineer to join our Kier Design team based in Norwich. The role is part of Kier's 750‑strong internal consultancy, supporting the delivery of Civil & Structural Infrastructure Engineering services. It offers the opportunity to contribute to complex projects by providing safe and buildable solutions that meet client goals. Occasional travel to the Norwich office is required. Hours are 40 hours per week, with some flexibility if discussed.

Responsibilities
* Permanent works design for structures, highways, geotechnics, and infrastructure as part of an integrated design‑and‑construct offering.
* Consideration for temporary works, both above and below ground, integrated with permanent works design where applicable.
* Supporting tender and bid submissions with outline designs, feasibility studies, and value‑engineering solutions.
* Conducting technical assessments and reviews of third‑party designs to ensure they meet client and Kier requirements.
* Undertaking site visits, surveys, inspections, and providing technical advice on safety and construction matters.
* Managing project deliverables including calculations, CAD drawings, reports, and risk assessments while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
* Completion of a relevant professional institution IPD (IEng, EngTech, or CEng) with relevant experience, or a Level 6 or 7 qualification with appropriate experience.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Commitment to acting safely, ethically, and with care for the environment and communities.
Location and Hours
Norwich – remote working available with occasional office travel required. The role is 40 hours per week, with some flexibility if discussed.
