PURPOSES Primary Purpose. To provide Duty of Care to all Corporate Squadron Phase 2 (PH2) trainees and UTS ranks retained on ‘Holdover’ at HMS Raleigh. Secondary Purpose. To promote and instil the Naval Core Values in PH 2 trainees, by way of enforcing appropriate and proportionate routines, procedures, and discipline measures within Corporate Squadron. SUPERIORS The Corporate Squadron EWO is directly accountable to the Commanding Officer, RAL Commander, and RAL 1L. AUTHORITY The Corporate Squadron PH2 EWO is the Senior Divisional Officer and is authorised to: Lead HMS Raleigh’s PH2 Professional Divisional Officers Team on all Divisional, Welfare and Duty of Care matters. Liaise with relevant internal and external organisations in the conduct of Divisional business. To conduct Divisional Officer duties such as awarding Remedial Training packages, NGT Warnings, Minor Administrative Action (MAA) and Kit Musters. To initiate Trainee Case Conferences, when necessary, to execute their responsibilities regarding the ‘Care and Welfare’ of individuals within the Squadron. To manage and oversee UTS ranks retained in RAL ‘Holdover’. Balancing the trainee’s expectation, while working with the Training Management Group to generate meaningful and gainful employment within RAL, the local community and wider RN. PRINCIPAL TASKS Responsible for the Duty of Care of all Corporate Squadron trainees. Comply with HMS Raleigh’s ‘Supervisory Care’ Directive (with emphasis regarding Under 18 trainees). Liaise with UTS Training Pipeline Manager and ‘Stats and Plans’ regarding nuances and anomalies pertaining to a trainee’s current and future training / career path. Oversee the PVR, DUDT, CDT Discharge procedures for PH2 and UTS Holdover Trainees, ensuring the process is executed accurately and efficiently. To manage and oversee UTS ranks retained in RAL ‘Holdover’, whilst balancing the trainee’s expectation and generating meaningful employment. Ensure and monitor the compliance of all HMS Raleigh CTM’s, particularly MAA and Equality and Diversity. Act as Divisional Officer and 1/2 RO to Corporate Squadron Divisional Staff. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety for Corporate Squadron accommodation occupants and the safety management (to include Fire Safety adherence) of all Corporate Squadron real estate. Prompt submission of all necessary SON’s (Statement of Need) to HMS Raleigh CDR for ongoing infrastructure maintenance and projects. Weekly Corporate Squadron briefing to RAL CDR, RAL 1L as required. Always promote the Naval Core Values. Attend the weekly Executive, Training HOD’s and ‘Carers’ meetings. Act as Corporate Squadron (PH2) Department Coordinator and attend all meetings. Liaison with the Royal Navy’s other PH2 Training Establishments/EWO’s. Any task delegated by the Chain of Command. EXTRANEOUS DUTIES Officer of the Day and Ceremonial Inspecting Officer duties, HMS Raleigh.
