This is a unique opportunity to join Article 25, the UK’s leading Humanitarian Architectural NGO, as a senior leader. Celebrating 20 years of global impact, Article 25 has worked in over 35 countries on more than 100 projects, using architecture to deliver resilient infrastructure.
They are looking to hire a Director of Projects to join the senior leadership team and dramatically accelerate our global ambitions. This pivotal role combines world-class design expertise, construction management, and high-level business development with a powerful social mission.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and execution of a global acquisition strategy to secure new projects through partnerships, bids, and NGO engagement.
* Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary global team, ensuring effective resourcing, knowledge-sharing, and professional growth.
* Oversee financial forecasting, budgeting, and governance for all projects, ensuring robust controls and compliance with diverse donor regulations.
* Proactively identify and pursue high-value, project and funding opportunities across key sectors: healthcare, education, housing, and disaster resilience.
* Engage directly with major institutional donors (FCDO, USAID, EIB, World Bank, UN) to position Article 25 as a preferred implementation partner.
* Provide executive oversight across the full project lifecycle, ensuring resilient, cost-effective, and locally appropriate design and construction solutions in challenging international contexts.
Skills and Experience
* Part III Qualified Architect (or equivalent) with proven senior leadership experience in practice and project delivery.
* Extensive experience in international business development and donor engagement, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.
* Successful track record securing and delivering large-scale, high-impact projects from concept to completion in international markets.
* Expertise engaging with institutional donors and navigating complex procurement processes.
* Strong financial acumen, including significant experience in budgeting, forecasting, and managing large, multi-stakeholder project budgets.
* Advanced technical knowledge in design and construction, with the ability to assess viability, risk, and social impact.
* Exceptional commercial, strategic, and leadership skills, with a proven ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
