Job Description
We are recruiting a Rig Services Engineer for our client in Aberdeen. This is an initial 12-month contract role.
Role Description
* The Platform Rig Services Electrical Engineer oversees and manages the maintenance of equipment and drilling facilities on company assets. Ensures drilling assets are in a safe state of readiness to accept a drill crew, reacting promptly to plan changes or equipment failures.
* Manages and collaborates with the main drilling contractor’s maintenance teams, providing guidance on maintenance requirements, equipment standardization, spare levels, planning, and budget review.
* Reviews and improves the SAP maintenance system and its implementation.
* Ensures proper planning and direction during rig readiness, equipment replacements, or upgrades. Verifies technical aspects and certification levels of equipment with third parties.
* Monitors work carried out to ensure compliance with maintenance strategies and management of change procedures.
* Advises contractors on certification requirements for equipment and measures standards against company performance.
* Coordinates with various company departments to optimize operations across assets.
Detailed Responsibilities
* Planning and executing rig re-activation to ensure efficient start-up.
* Coordinating with contractors and project teams for Hydraulic Workover Unit mobilizations.
* Minimizing downtime during drilling, workover, or P&A operations.
* Ensuring statutory compliance and asset standards.
* Driving continual improvement in HSEQ performance.
* Standardizing equipment and striving for operational excellence with third-party contractors.
* Reviewing technological advances for efficiency and cost savings.
* Adjusting maintenance levels to suit the forward plan.
* Ensuring quality assurance and control, integrating drawings, maintenance, and certification into SAP.
* Minimizing risks to platform equipment and operations.

* Strong safety and environmental awareness, legislative knowledge.
* Proven industry experience at an advanced competence level.
Training & Qualifications
* Essential: Extensive industry experience, engineering or science qualification, regional minimum training (BOSIET, MIST).
* Desirable: Engineering or science-based HNC, project management qualification.
