Job Description:
THE COMPANY:
The client is a multi-jurisdictional financial institution offering private banking, retail, and digital banking for corporate and retail clients. The firm is looking to hire a Head of Compliance on a 6-month FTC basis.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Oversee and manage the compliance team, providing direction and support on regulatory compliance and financial crime matters.
* Monitor and advise on Data Protection/GDPR compliance across the business.
* Manage the regulatory policy framework and ensure it remains appropriate.
* Map and document regulatory rules against business activities.
* Assess the effectiveness of compliance measures and address deficiencies.
* Advise on MiFID compliance and assist relevant staff in regulated activities.
* Sign off on Terms & Conditions annually.
* Oversee complaint handling and data subject access requests.
* Advise the business on applicable regulations and horizon scanning.
* Provide management information to committees, highlighting risks and threats.
* Assess regulatory risk profile and enhance compliance controls.
* Create and conduct compliance training programs.
* Assess and communicate emerging regulatory rules.
* Manage policies and procedures to counter regulatory and financial crime risks.
* Design and monitor compliance controls and conduct reviews.
* Support the business in promoting a compliance culture.
* Provide resource for compliance-related projects.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* Retail and/or digital banking experience; previous SMF16 role or sufficient experience to cover it.
* Knowledge of FCA Handbook and regulatory requirements for banking firms.
* Strong knowledge of MiFID, EMIR, PSD2, GDPR.
* Understanding of banking operations, especially in small/medium institutions.
* Ability to develop policies and frameworks.
* Experience with 2nd line monitoring techniques.
* Experience establishing compliance workstreams and policies.
