Role Information
The school is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Data Manager to oversee the collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of school-wide data.
Key responsibilities include:
* Maintaining and developing the school’s Management Information System (SIMS/Arbor/ISAMS)
* Producing regular data reports for senior leadership, heads of department, and governors
* Managing assessment cycles, data drops, progress tracking, and academic monitoring
* Ensuring compliance with GDPR and secure handling of sensitive student data
* Supporting teachers with the use of data tools and reports
* Overseeing census returns and statutory data submissions
* Creating dashboards, analytics, and performance visualisations
* Ensuring accuracy of student, timetable, and attendance records
* Troubleshooting MIS issues and liaising with external technical support
* Training staff in MIS usage and data entry standards
This role requires a proactive mindset, technical expertise, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
Requirements
* Prior experience in a data management role (ideally education sector)
* Advanced skills in MIS systems such as SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom, or ISAMS
* Strong analytical and Excel/data visualisation skills
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
* Understanding of GDPR and data protection principles
* Accuracy, integrity, and a meticulous approach to data
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
