Your Role: Lead the Fresh and Bakery Merchandising Team
Are you a strategic problem solver with a passion for data-driven decision-making? We’re looking for someone highly organized to take charge of our Fresh and Bakery merchandising team. In this fast-paced role, you will:
* Drive Category Profitability: Utilize advanced demand forecasting and precise inventory management through the RELEX AI replenishment system.
* Provide Financial Oversight: Manage WSSI and conduct range architecture analysis to optimize performance year-round and during seasonal campaigns.
* Develop Your Team: Coach and mentor an Assistant Merchandiser and a Merchandise Admin Assistant, fostering their growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Demand & Inventory Management:
o Expertly manage the RELEX tool for accurate forecasting and replenishment.
o Adjust buy quantities based on seasonality and historical performance to meet availability and wastage KPIs.
o Conduct category wash-ups and provide data-backed recommendations for future growth.
o Collaborate with in-house Chefs to manage production planning for made-in-house products.
* Financial Planning & Analysis:
o Deliver comprehensive weekly sales and margin reports, identifying trends and mitigating risks.
o Ensure stock levels align with financial targets for both AYR products and seasonal campaigns.
o Work with the Buying team to execute strategic markdown plans, protecting margins.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration:
o Build strong partnerships with various teams to ensure a unified approach to product lifecycle and inventory flow.
o Refine product mix with Buying to meet customer demand for core and campaign ranges.
o Optimize in-store ranging and launch timings with Branch Merchandising.
* Supply Chain & Supplier Relations:
o Manage the supply chain from supplier to distribution center, ensuring accountability to OTIF KPIs.
o Oversee stock flow for high-impact campaigns to ensure seamless launches.
* Team Leadership & Development:
o Mentor and develop your team members, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience: 2+ years in a Merchandiser or Planner role, preferably in Grocery, FMCG, or Perishables.
* Analytical Skills: Strong Excel proficiency, including LOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and complex data modeling.
* Agility: Ability to make quick decisions and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
* Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of margins, markdowns, and the financial impact of wastage.
