Location: St Leonards-on-Sea
Hours: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Our engineering client is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Turner to join their precision manufacturing team. This role involves programming (preferred but not essential), setting and operating CNC lathes producing high-quality components in a range of specialist materials.
Key Responsibilities
* Programming (where applicable), setting and operating CNC sliding-head and multi‑axis fixed-head lathes
* Producing precision components from stainless steel, aluminium and exotic metals
* Machining bar diameters ranging from approximately 1mm to 200mm
* Interpreting engineering drawings and ensuring strict quality standards
* Optimising machining processes for efficiency and accuracy
* Maintaining safe working practices and equipment care
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven CNC turning experience in a precision engineering environment
* Strong setting and operating capability; programming experience advantageous
* Familiarity with Fanuc controls highly desirable
* Experience working with a variety of metals including stainless steel, aluminium and exotic alloys
* Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances
* Reliable, detail-focused team player with good problem-solving skills
