We are now recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled CNC Lathe and Turning Machine Tool Setter / Programmer. You will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Based In Alfreton
Duties -
Setting up, adjusting and operating basic or specialised machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.
Aligning and securing holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.
Monitoring the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
Studying sample parts, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to produce products.
Measuring, examining, or testing completed parts to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications by regularly inspecting the finished products using precision measuring tools.
Maintaining equipment in proper condition by cleaning and performing minor repairs when necessary.
What we are looking for-
Proven work experience as a Lathe and Turning Machine Tool Setter/Programmer.
Ability to interpret technical instructions and drawings.
Experience with Star and/or Mazak machines preferred.
Excellent knowledge of the properties of metal and other material.
Experience with precision measurement tools.
Mathematical skills for accurate measurements and calculations in order to produce parts that meet specifications.
Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy.
4 years machining experience, with a vocational or technical training preferred.
Problem-solving skills to identify and fix issues that may occur during the machine operation process.
Knowledge of safety standards and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Availability to work shifts if required.
