NC Associates are working in partnership with a well-established and forward-thinking accountancy practice based on the Wirral, looking to recruit a Semi Senior Accountant due to continued growth. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and experienced individual from a practice background looking to progress their career and take on more responsibility in a supportive and friendly environment.
Semi Senior Accountant Duties and Responsibilities
* Prepare statutory accounts for a range of clients including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
* Produce VAT returns and complete bookkeeping assignments
* Assist in the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns (self-assessments and CT600s)
* Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients
* Preparation and submission of self-assessment returns and support of MTD ITSA implementation
* Assist with onboarding of new clients and company incorporations
* Support with client queries and provide basic business advice
* Review junior team members’ work and provide support or training where required
* Ensure compliance with relevant accounting and tax regulations
Essential Experience Required
* 2–3 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice
* AAT qualified or part-qualified ACCA/ACA
* Strong working knowledge of cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and Taxcalc
* Preparation and submission of self-assessment returns and support of MTD ITSA implementation
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
* Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
