Are you a Physiotherapist looking to spend a year in a rewarding career within a highly specialist service? If so, come and join the therapy department at Queen Victoria Hospital as part of our therapy team within Burns/Plastics/Head and Neck where you'll be supported as you shape and empower recovery.
Responsibilities
* Provide input to clinical governance meetings and work on service development within the clinical areas.
* Deliver advanced clinical assessments and treatments to a caseload of adult patients on rehabilitation pathways.
* Create and deliver bespoke training to less experienced therapists, students, support workers and the wider MDT.
* Work within three inpatient clinical areas of Burns (acute, rehabilitation and outpatient management) and with Major head and neck cancer surgery cases providing input for post operative rehabilitation and tracheostomy management and plastic surgery rehabilitation after breast and reconstructive surgeries.
* Collaborate within established MDTs directly with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and pressure garment technicians, with peer support from two other band 7s and the Therapy Services Manager.
* Engage with colleagues across the wider MDT including Speech and Language Therapists, Dietitians, Nursing, Psychological Therapists, and Medical Colleagues to access in-house training and development.
* Take on leadership responsibilities as joint lead of the department, evaluate the service, and implement developments aligned with caseload and department needs.
* Perform clinical and management duties including completing PDRs, staff development, performance management and recruitment/workforce planning.
Requirements/Qualifications
* Registered Physiotherapist with ability to deliver advanced assessments and treatments; experience in burns/plastics/head and neck rehab is desirable.
* Proactive, self-motivated, with a passion for high standards of patient care.
* Ability to deliver training and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Strong leadership and change management capabilities.
