Based at our Warrington depot, the Mechanical Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring our equipment is safe, reliable and ready for customers. You will carry out mechanical repairs, servicing, testing and assembly across our wide range of hire products including power tools, lifting equipment, generators, and light plant. Your work directly supports customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and the overall success of the depot.

About the Role What You Will Be Doing

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and inspecting Speedys extensive fleet of equipment. This includes:


Key Responsibilities

1. Diagnose mechanical faults across a wide range of hire equipment and carry out effective repairs.

2. Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance, ensuring equipment is always safe, compliant and ready for hire.

3. Assemble and configure new equipment, completing pre-delivery inspections and testing before items enter the fleet.

4.
