Contract: Data Center Technician / Engineer x4 Location: Based in Europe - must be prepared to travel around Europe for deployments Up to 75% of time (2-3 weeks a month - expensed) Need EU Passport and able to travel freeley Duration: To end of 2026 - 11 months Start Date: ASAP Rate: €350-400 a day B2B assignment (Travel expensed) Reference: 20182 Contract Assignment: The Data Center Technician / Engineer supports clients program by performing onsite data center services related to hardware refresh and physical infrastructure changes. This role is focused on Cisco rack-and-stack installation, cable migration, physical validation, and closeout documentation in live production data center environments. This position does not perform logical configuration, Layer 3 networking, operating system upgrades, or structured cabling installation. Key Responsibilities Hardware Installation Unbox, rack, mount, and secure network, compute, and storage hardware Install rails, shelves, and mounting hardware as required Connect power cables and verify correct PDU assignments Ensure dual power feeds where applicable Apply device and cable labeling per customer standards Maintain clean cable dressing and rack organization Cable Migration (Network Refresh Activities) Migrate cables one-for-one from legacy devices to new hardware Perform cable moves under the direction of the customer's network engineer Verify basic Layer 1 connectivity (link lights, port activity) Capture before-and-after photos of cabling and device placement Validation & Closeout Validate proper device placement, labeling, and cable routing Confirm power connectivity and redundancy Assist with physical validation tasks requested by remote engineers Complete closeout documentation including photos, rack elevations, and site completion forms Communicate progress, issues, and completion status to the Foreman Required Skills & Experience 2 years of hands-on data center experience Strong working knowledge of: Rack layouts and RU management AC power and PDUs Fiber and copper cabling standards Cable labeling and management best practices Experience working in live production environments Comfortable lifting and installing data center equipment with assistance Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Ability to follow change procedures and customer direction Experience following structured installation procedures and site-specific documentation (LLDs, rack elevations, cable matrices) Ability to work within defined change windows and adhere to customer operational standards Strong written and photo-based documentation skills for site surveys and closeout packages Familiarity with data center safety practices and working in secure colocation environments Ability to take direction from a site Foreman and coordinate effectively with remote project teams Comfortable working across multiple sites and adapting to different facility standards Preferred Experience Prior lifecycle refresh or migration projects Colocation data center experience Familiarity with Cisco network hardware and enterprise server platforms Experience of working with remote engineering teams during cutovers Work Environment Onsite work at customer data center facilities Regional and international travel required Primarily business-hours work; after-hours support may be required with approval Must comply with all site safety, security, and access requirements Covering sites across Netherlands, Belgium, France, Denmark, Greece, Germany, Spain, Ireland, Switzerland, Sweden, England Networking People (UK) is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
