Overview

We are seeking a reliable, proactive, and diligent IT Support candidate to join the valued IT Support team in Cambridgeshire. This position will be full-time for the first three months, with working hours typically 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, five days a week.

Responsibilities

* Provide support to all system users and peripheral hardware, including installing, repairing, and maintaining equipment and software (including student laptops).
* Maintain a complete and accurate asset record of all equipment.
* Perform routine maintenance tasks, including installing basic software packages and setting common options.
* Keep the helpdesk up to date and ensure issues are resolved quickly with urgent tasks prioritized.
* Support, configure and install Teams IP phones and liaise with facilities regarding future telephone system upgrades.
* Work closely with teachers, support staff, parents and pupils on hardware or software issues via email, phone and in person.
* Identify IT service improvements and install laptops/computers as needed.
* Identify ICT requirements and develop outline specifications for solutions.
* Maintain and develop the school's ICT resources for safe, effective use by pupils and staff.


Required Skills

* Prior experience in IT support or a relevant field is required, ideally within a school and/or the education sector.
* Eligibility to work in the UK (essential).
* DBS on update service is a must or willingness to obtain a new one.
* Provide specific references.
* Ability to understand the customer perspective and work collaboratively with pupils, teachers and parents.
* Problem-solving skills to find innovative IT solutions.
* Ability to work as part of a team and be proactive.
* Proven record of maintaining efficient IT systems, ideally in a school setting.
* High level of team, interpersonal and communication skills.
* Logical, calm, organized approach to problem solving.
* Ability to manage time effectively, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
* High level of initiative, enthusiasm and willingness to work in a collaborative manner.
