As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a key role in supporting children in their early years, encouraging their social, emotional, and cognitive development through engaging activities and structured play. You will work as part of a dedicated team to create a nurturing and inclusive setting where every child feels safe, valued, and supported. Responsibilities of the Nursery Practitioner: Provide high-quality care and learning experiences for children in the early years setting, ensuring a safe and engaging environment. Support children’s early development in line with the EYFS framework, focusing on language, communication, and social interaction. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, including sensory play, storytelling, and creative sessions to encourage exploration and curiosity. Monitor and assess children’s progress and development, providing regular feedback to parents and the wider nursery team. Promote positive behaviour management strategies, ensuring children feel encouraged, confident, and secure. Support children’s personal care routines, including feeding, dressing, and hygiene, maintaining high standards of health and safety. Requirements of the Nursery Practitioner: To be considered for this role, you must have: Experience working with children in an early years or nursery setting (school-based, private nursery, or childcare experience is highly desirable). A recognised early years qualification, such as Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare, Early Years Education, or equivalent (desirable but not essential). An understanding of the EYFS framework, child development principles, and early learning strategies. Experienced teachers who want flexible work are encouraged to apply. SEN experience is a bonus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues. A patient, caring, and creative approach, ensuring that every child receives the support they need to thrive. Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
