The Learning Partnership and the Principal at Leighton Academy wish to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support the learning needs of pupils with an EHC plan. We are looking for someone who is committed to the vision and values of the school, has a child-centred approach, is reliable and resilient and has energy and enthusiasm. They will also be keen to learn and come into school with fresh and new ideas to add to such a busy and lively environment. The candidate should have the ability to put their initiative and experience to good use.
What does the post involve?
The post is 27.5 hours per week, term time only 9.00am – 3.15pm for 5 days per week with a 45-minute lunch break. The candidate needs to hold a Level 2 or equivalent, e.g. BTEC National Diploma. This is will be a temporary contract to cover a maternity leave for up to 1 year, supporting different pupils with an EHC plan throughout the day.
Salary: Grade 4 £24,790.00 FTE, £15,490.03 pro rata
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Have previous experience of working with SEND pupils
* Be proactive and work well in a team
* Be able to communicate effectively with the children and other staff members
* Report on individual pupil’s progress
* Be a positive role model and support with all aspects of self-esteem
* Be qualified to NVQ (level 2) or equivalent
* Be supporting a child with a range of learning and communication needs
* Have experience carrying out specific interventions to aid learning and communication
