The role
In this role, you will support the team in providing finance support to the Executive Team, the Finance Leadership Team, and others to understand allocations of functional costs via service fees, total cost of ownership metrics, and FinOps.
You’ll help us make health happen by
* Building out total Cost of Ownership activities
* Reporting and forecasting TCO metrics: current costs across functions, historical trends, and future impacts of transformation programmes
* Using Technology Business Management to develop a framework with consistent methodology to record granular costs, enabling customer understanding of cost drivers and influenceable costs
* Delivering insightful analysis and reporting on Cloud costs by working closely with FinOps and our Technology function to enable informed decision-making, optimize Cloud spend, and leverage native Cloud data to enrich TCO across Technology and other functions
* Tracking contract and license usage (~£80m) regularly and communicating with businesses to support decision-making
* Understanding the BGIUK IT estate, including centrally held functional costs, shadow tech, and internal recoveries/recharges; providing analysis to improve consistency and operational efficiency
* Providing proactive financial support by understanding MU and functional strategies, linking with transformation activities and BAU, performing financial modeling including investment appraisals and scenario planning, and monitoring change and transformation activities to project future TCO
* Being financially accountable for advising and educating functional leaders on TCO principles, fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and cost efficiency within our Cloud environment
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role
* Hold a professional accountancy qualification – ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent
* Minimum of 5 years experience in finance roles such as business partnering, financial analysis, planning/forecasting, FinOps, management accounting, and financial reporting
* Experience in business partnering at a senior leadership level—confident in presenting analytics, challenging assumptions, inquisitive mindset, and strong understanding of corporate functions
* Advanced reporting skills, including developing custom reports, dashboards, and visuals
* Strong understanding of cloud computing services (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS)
* Knowledge of cloud cost reporting tools (e.g., Cloudability, Azure Cost Management & Billing), and understanding of public cloud billing methods
