Your new role
As amercial & Procurement Specialist, you will lead and support end‑to‑end sourcing, supplier management and contract delivery across a varied andmercially diverse portfolio, including:
1. Full sourcing and tendering activity for FM, PFI, estates and operationally critical service areas.
2. Managing both large, high‑value contracts and small, fast‑turn procurement exercises.
3. Supportingmercial activity within CSOC‑type operational environments where reliability, continuity and performance are essential.
4. Overseeing supplier performance, service delivery, KPIs and risk mitigation under formal contract structures (NEC/JCT or similar).
5. Using CP&F/CPNS systems to manage procurement processes, financial controls andmercialernance.
6. Working across multiple defence‑related buying areas (education/training services, specialist and generalist equipment, support services).
7. Ensuringmercial alignment with security requirements,pliance frameworks and audit standards typical of the defence sector.
This is a hands‑on role requiring ownership,mercial confidence and the ability to support stakeholders in time‑critical or operational environments.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you should demonstrate:
8. Recent, hands‑on sourcing experience - leading tenders andmercial processes within the last 1–3 years.
9. Facilities Management (FM) and/or PFI experience, across soft FM, hard FM, lifecycle work, estate services or structured PFI arrangements.
10. Experience within defence, secure operations, or other regulated environments, understanding the pace,ernance and assurance levels required.
11. Familiarity with CSOC‑type operational support or experience supporting high‑dependability operational services.
12. Strong contract and supplier management skills, ideally with NEC or JCT experience.
13. Confidence buying across multiple defence aligned categories including; education/training services, equipment (generalist or technical), and wider support services.
14. Ability to handle both high‑value strategic procurements and smaller, urgent requirements.
15. Security Clearance (SC) preferred or eligibility to undergo SC vetting.
16. Strong stakeholder engagement skills,fortable working with engineers, operational teams, project delivery, and senior decision‑makers.
