From ensuring the boilers are running on a cold winter morning to managing the security of the site at sunset, your role is fundamental to the daily success of the school. Core Responsibilities Site Security & Access: Acting as a primary keyholder, responsible for the opening and closing of the school premises, including the activation and deactivation of sophisticated alarm systems. Reactive & Planned Maintenance: Carrying out essential repairs across the site, including basic plumbing, joinery, and painting, while maintaining a rigorous schedule of preventative maintenance. Health & Safety Compliance: Conducting and recording statutory safety checks, including fire alarm testing, emergency lighting, and water hygiene (Legionella) monitoring. Contractor Liaison: Supervising external tradespeople and cleaning staff, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with school safeguarding policies. Logistics & Porterage: Organising the layout of furniture for examinations, assemblies, and community events, as well as managing the safe receipt and distribution of deliveries. Grounds Maintenance: Ensuring the external environment is safe and presentable, including seasonal tasks such as leaf clearance, litter picking, and emergency gritting. Why This School?
