This role involves overseeing day-to-day construction activities on large-scale projects, managing technical teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. * Manage daily site operations for piling, drilling, and soil stabilization works, ensuring work aligns with project plans and specifications
* Lead technical troubleshooting and resolve onsite issues related to ground engineering activities using tools such as AutoCAD, MS Project, and soil testing equipment
* Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols
* Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and progress meetings, preparing detailed reports and documentation
* Monitor project progress against milestones, updating schedules, managing deviations, and implementing corrective actions
* Liaise with clients, consultants, and project managers to communicate progress, technical challenges, and contractual compliance
Senior Site Engineer Job Requirements
* Relevant UK qualifications, such as NVQ Level 3 in Civil Engineering, HNC, or HND, with a strong understanding of ground engineering principles
* Minimum 5 years’ experience managing piling, drilling, and soil stabilization projects on active construction sites
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, Excel, and site management software, including soil testing and geotechnical reporting tools
* UK-recognised health and safety certifications such as CSCS and SMSTS; NEBOSH or equivalent is advantageous
* Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage subcontractors, and oversee technical aspects of complex ground engineering projects
* Strong awareness of UK construction regulations, compliance standards, and NEC contractual frameworks (preferably NEC4)
Senior Site Engineer Salary & Benefits
* Salary Range: £50,000 to £70,000 annually
