Hours of Work: Full-time: 37 hours, Monday to Friday
We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Estimator (PIB / Projects) to join our team at our Glenrothes facility. This role offers the chance to learn new skills and experiences while enhancing existing ones. The position requires accuracy, diligence, resilience, and is suitable for a self-motivated individual.
A market-competitive salary will be offered depending on experience. Benefits include 33 days holiday per year (pro-rata, including public holidays), a 5% employer pension contribution, and life assurance.
Outline of Role and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be part of the sales team, working to generate new and maintain existing sales, managing and developing client relationships. Training will be provided as needed. The role involves cross-functional duties, including estimation of our Induction Bending (PIB) products, supporting group growth.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Handle customer and internal sales inquiries.
2. Build and maintain customer relationships, understanding their business needs, including account management.
3. Attend customer meetings where applicable.
4. Create detailed proposals, submit bids, and follow up to closure.
5. Negotiate prices, costs, delivery, and specifications.
6. Sourcing raw materials and services from suppliers.
7. Understand customer requirements thoroughly.
8. Prepare ITT packages, project bids, and quotations; follow up on these to establish pricing and delivery.
9. Maintain sales logs and documentation for reporting.
10. Present at monthly sales meetings on enquiry activities and market intelligence.
11. Interpret engineering drawings and material take-offs.
12. Maintain awareness of commercial, contractual, and technical aspects.
13. Participate in visual manufacturing system training.
14. Assist with customer visits and company presentations.
15. Conduct contract reviews and coordinate between sales and project teams.
16. Work with the sales team to meet sales targets, seeking new opportunities.
17. Coordinate with other departments for realistic delivery dates.
18. Procure materials and services to support proposals.
19. Support team members during busy periods.
20. Assist ongoing projects with commercial and variation work.
Flexibility
A degree of flexibility is required to perform work beyond the outlined duties to ensure effective service delivery.
Desired Experience / Skills
1. Experience in manufacturing, preferably in cladding, welding, or machining.
2. Experience with account management systems is desirable.
3. Excellent communication skills, capable of building relationships remotely and face-to-face.
4. Ability to prioritize and organize a high workload.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
6. Manufacturing experience is advantageous.
