Commercial Services Manager – Environment Agency
At the Environment Agency, we do more than build flood risk management schemes or regulate industry. We aim to leave a legacy that people, communities, and the environment can be proud of. This role supports the team overseeing the commercial governance of our contracts with key consultancies and contractors, helping maximise value for money and deliver on our projects.
As part of the Commercial Assurance and Framework Management Team, you will:
* Provide country-wide support to Integrated Delivery Management teams and the wider Project Management community.
* Champion effective governance and commercial assurance to achieve optimal value.
* Help set up and manage pathfinder programmes that embed best practice and develop long-term partnerships.
* Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
* Take part in incident response duties and training as required.
Experience and Skills Required
* Essential education: A‑Level, Level 3 qualifications or equivalent.
* Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Stakeholder management experience.
* Strong data and document management skills.
* Commercial acumen – ability to analyse business situations, take proportionate risks, and deliver value for money.
* Administrative skills – strong organisation, minute taking and report drafting.
* Willingness to pursue professional qualifications (e.g., NEC, CIPS) and ask questions to drive development.
* Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
Desired Education/Professional Requirements
* Degree or equivalent professional qualification or experience.
* Working towards status with a recognised professional body such as ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS or RICS.
* Formal training in contract management (e.g., NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme).
