We have an exciting opportunity for PMO Manager to join the Change Management Office (CMO) team.
The PMO Manager is a core member of the CMO team. They play a senior role in change delivery and lead the Portfolio management office in the implementation and maintenance of standardised project management practices, governance & portfolio oversight across the Cumberland Change function.

The Role
Main responsibilities include:
Leadership
* People leadership and daily management of the PMO function fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
* Lead and develop a team where the focus is on enabling project delivery to perform at its best whilst maintaining proportionate governance and control
* Act as the bridge between senior leadership, the CMO management team and project teams building strong relationships with project teams and senior leaders ensuring alignment with strategy and overall business objectives
* Work collaboratively to continue to uplift capability and embed the Change framework
Delivery Control
* Maintain the Change Policy and Framework, including any uplift required to change controls and processes to maintain proportionate governance and controls
* Oversee the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of artefacts, templates and tooling across the CMO function
Assurance
* Own & manage the Portfolio quality assurance framework & Lead Assurance checkpoint meetings
* Conduct regular quality control and health check audits to ensure compliance with established standards and best practices, ensuring assurance activities are ‘value add’ exercises
* Lead any assurance improvement plans and own the lessons learned process ensuring insights and root cause analysis is captured and rectified
Project Governance and Reporting
* Ownership of overall Project governance and reporting processes to ensure efficiency and control when escalation and decision-making is required
* Provide robust and trusted management ensuring projects are governed in the most effective and efficient way possible
* Define clear escalation routes throughout the governance structure from Workstream Management meetings to Change Management Committee
* Produce reporting packs for SLT/Board and other key governance meetings collating project and portfolio level MI ensuring progress, overall health and risk and issues are reported appropriately
* Support the management and cadence of governance meetings
Portfolio management
* Support the wider CMO team in evaluating new project proposals against The Societies strategic objectives and prioritisation framework
* Ensure decisions to implement change are taken by those with authority to do so and decisions are supported by an auditable record demonstrating that the impacts from the change have been assessed, appropriate options considered and benefits assessed.
* Support the overall financial wellbeing of project delivery by working alongside the CMO finance lead in supporting project managers
About You
You’ll have the following key qualifiers:
* A proven track record of experience in project/programme management, managing change across a range of complex IT Change, Regulatory and Business Change programmes
* Demonstrable PMO leadership and stakeholder management experience in delivering a wide range of projects and programmes within a financial service environment
* Demonstratable experience in influencing and challenging others in a collaborative and pragmatic way
* Knowledge of change delivery methodologies (ie waterfall, agile, hybrid) with a deep understanding of project tooling and governance frameworks
* Experience in the management of Portfolio, Programme and Project lifecycles
* Experience of both Waterfall and Agile models and their application within a PMO setting
* Strong commercial awareness with the ability to understand and be innovative in their approach to managing budgets and risk
* Strong experience of PPM tools and Microsoft applications

Where you will work
