An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, conscientious and dedicated Electrician to join an Estates Maintenance Team responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment at properties owned and maintained by Cheshire & Wirral Partnership NHS Trust. The role will require the post holder to undertake the role of Competent Person (CP) as defined within Health Technical Memorandum 06-02. As part of the role, the post holder will be required to be flexible and operate as part of a diverse maintenance team whilst having a wide ranging knowledge of electrical systems (including LV distribution, technical drawings, problem solving, testing and inspection etc). All applicants must have access to transport for work purposes as travel is essential around the various properties the Trust is responsible for. They must also be able to use their own initiative in order to problem solve issues that may be presented in a safe manner in order for areas to continually operate and provide assurance to the stakeholders. Successful applicants must be trained to City & Guilds Level 3 Advanced Technical Craft Certificate or equivalent qualification i.e. NVQ 3, BTECNational Certificate/ Diploma or ONC/OND qualification and will have completed a recognised Electrical apprenticeship possessing a high level of competence.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as Competent Person (CP) for electrical installations.
• Install, maintain and repair electrical equipment across the Trust's properties.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Perform testing, inspection and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
• Produce Electrical Installation Reports, EICRs and minor works certificates.
Required Qualifications and Experience
* Must have served a recognised apprenticeship and be able to produce evidence of such.
* Must have City & Guilds Level 3 Advanced Technical Craft Certificate (NVQ3) or equivalent.
* Experience working in a healthcare environment.
Desirable Criteria
* BS7671:2018 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* C&G 2391 Inspection and Test Qualification.
* Health & Safety qualification.
* Ability to demonstrate a thorough experience of working on complex systems found in a healthcare environment.
* Multi-skilled approach and willingness to learn new techniques.
* Competence to undertake work on the types of systems and plant for which the appointment is sought.
* Installation of new systems from drawings and specifications, complying with all legalisation.
* Maintenance of standby generators, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting systems and nurse call systems.
* Knowledge of low voltage single & three-phase, mechanical plant and equipment, air handling control systems, fire alarm, security alarms and emergency lighting systems.
* Significant post apprenticeship experience.

Remuneration
The salary for this role is at Agenda for change band 4, RRP is an additional payment, paid at £6,040.95 per annum. On-call is paid at a rate of £21.92 per occasion with a minimum 1.5 hours pay per call out. All other associated "on call" time is paid at time and a half, including travel time.
