Job Description
Arden White is working with a leading player in the rotary sector within the recruitment of an experienced Head of Training Academy to design, lead, and grow a world-class technical and professional training function in the UK.
The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and managing a high-performing training platform, delivering both internal training for technical and non-technical roles, and external training services to support wider industry demand.
This role offers a rare opportunity to lead the creation of a UK centre of excellence for aerospace training.
Key Responsibilities:
* Set up and lead a dedicated Training Academy for internal and external aerospace training delivery.
* Build and manage a comprehensive portfolio of regulated (Part 147) and non-regulated training programmes.
* Recruit, train, and develop a team of instructors and mentors.
* Develop and implement an effective Training Management System and customer booking portal.
* Secure and maintain approval for Part 147 training across aircraft types (e.g., H135, H145, H160, H125, H130).
* Launch marketing initiatives to drive external training revenue and grow market reach.
* Ensure regulatory compliance (Part 145, Part 147, Part CAMO) and internal governance.
* Collaborate across multiple training locations (Oxford, RAF Shawbury, Brunei, Cyprus) to optimise resources and delivery.
* Provide strategic oversight for apprenticeship and outreach programmes.
* Manage cost centre budgets and control all training-related finances.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Proven project delivery success in aerospace, engineering, or a training environment.
* Strong leadership experience in setting up or managing training functions or academies.
* In-depth knowledge of aviation regulatory frameworks, especially Part 145/147.
* Financial, risk, and resource management capabilities.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage change.
Desirable:
* Experience working with Learning or Training Management Systems.
* Knowledge of UK aerospace training market.
* Familiarity with POLY POLY or similar modular training approaches.
