This is an exciting opportunity in a new role to support the amazing work of this new Charity in our 6th year of delivering a range of therapeutic services. We offer specialist youth counselling, anger management counselling and specialist therapeutic support for parents too. We’re experts on emotional and behavioural dis-regulation often as a result of some form of Neuro-diversity like Autism and ADHD and passionate about championing the need for expert support for this much misunderstood and misdiagnosed condition.
We achieve excellent outcomes for those who engage with us and help both young people and their parents learn how to cope with all that challenges them enabling them to attend school and college and enjoy manageable social lives to avoid the isolation, anxiety and depression that is so often the result of poor or no support.
We have a strong local reputation for excellence and high professional standards that we are very proud of, we work hard to place ourselves within multi agency teams around children and families to inform the systems on how to nurture and support those struggling with school and life.
We’re growing, and need to increase our capacity further to meet the ever growing needs of families in the North East Hants / Surrey border area challenged by poor mental health and in need of timely and expert support.
We are searching for an experienced fundraising manager with excellent networking abilities. The fundraising manager will be responsible for raising a budget of £185K p/a. (Headroom’s year running Aug 01-July 31).
You’ll be responsible for researching and securing grants from trusts, foundations, and grant-giving organisations to support our impactful programmes. Building good relationships with prospective corporate donors across multiple sectors, communicating with the broader public and enhancing the current fundraising strategy to ensure annual targets are met. You should be well organised, proactive, and a self starter who is able to self motivate.
To be successful as a fundraiser, you should stay informed on marketing strategies, and be comfortable doing research on different sectors. A great fundraiser should have strong public speaking skills and be able to deliver presentations to a range of audiences.
This role is subject to DBS check.
Fundraiser Responsibilities:
* Conduct research on which corporates to target
* Develop a pro-active targeting plan of those corporates
* Deliver that pro-active plan leading to regular corporate donations
* Targeting other local institutions / organisations to support Headroom
* Writing funding proposals and submitting these to potential donors
* Preparing quarterly fundraising reports
* Coming up with ingenious ways to raise awareness
* Organising and attending non-profit events and networking with relevant stakeholders
* Identify and research potential funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and grant-giving organisations
* Develop and write persuasive grant applications tailored to the requirements of each funding source
* Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and data necessary for grant applications
* Prepare budgets, proposals, and supporting documents for various grant sizes
* Cultivate and maintain relationships with funders, providing regular communication and reporting as needed
* Monitor and track the progress of grant applications, ensuring timely submission and follow-up
* Stay informed about the grant fundraising landscape and identify new funding prospects
* Contribute to the development and execution of the organisation's grants and funding strategy
Fundraiser Requirements:
* 3-5 years experience in successfully securing grants from trusts, foundations, or grant-giving organisations
* Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and persuasive grant applications
* Strong research abilities to identify suitable funding opportunities and align them with organisational goals
* Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
* Proficiency in budget development and financial analysis for grant proposals
* Relationship-building skills to engage funders and stakeholders effectively
* Knowledge of the nonprofit sector, funding landscape, and grant application processes
* Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team
* Familiarity with grant databases and online research tools is advantageous
* Knowledge of businesses local to Headroom
* Excellent written, verbal, and telephonic communication skills
