About The Service
The T.E.A.M.@Severn work with learners who are unable to access school due to health and exceptional circumstances. The team work across the City in community settings and council buildings. The team works in close partnership with learners, families, schools, EOTAS providers, other professionals within the LA, the Health Service and other statutory and voluntary agencies in Cardiff. The purpose of the service is to provide a tailored engaging education for our children and young people short term, as they transition into full time education, training or employment. Teachers and Skills and Support officers work in collaboration to provide the best possible outcomes for our children and young people.
About the job
The post holder will be the welcoming face of the team and a first point of contact for all parents, visitors and staff members. They will plan, organise and run all examinations in line with JCQ requirements. Training will be given to support examination administration.
In this role you will be responsible for developing and maintaining effective communication and data processes for the service. You will need an excellent eye for detail to ensure the examinations process runs efficiently and accurately. You will need effective ICT skills and be confident using a range of programmes to communicate with stakeholders, prepare reports and showcase the service.
The successful candidate will need to have a non-judgemental approach, demonstrating empathy and understanding as we work with children, young people and their families who may be experiencing challenge and trauma.
The post will be based in Canton.
What We Are Looking For From You
As the successful candidate, you will have excellent attention to detail. You will be hard working, dynamic and well organised, with the ability to manage your time efficiently and the ability to work under pressure and prioritise a number of varied and ongoing tasks. You will also need to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate tact and diplomacy in the role. A good level of ICT competency is essential.

This role is part-time at 32.5 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (39 weeks, plus 5 days in August). The advertised salary is based on a full-time role (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year). The actual salary will be lower than the advertised salary because of the part-time hours and weeks worked.
