Job Description
6. Review bookkeeping and VAT submissions prepared by the team.
7. Prepare or review management accounts, financial statements, and sole trader accounts.
8. Prepare or review corporation tax returns, with involvement in personal tax compliance.
9. Provide clear, confident communication to clients regarding tax, accounting matters, and general financial queries.
10. Manage a small client portfolio, acting as the first point of contact.
11. Liaise with clients regarding deadlines, required information, and workflow updates.
12. Assist senior leadership with deadlines across Accounts, VAT, Tax, Payroll, and Company Secretarial.
13. Support the drafting of advisory reports under the guidance of managers/directors.
The Successful Applicant
14. Minimum 4 years' experience in an accountancy practice.
15. Professionally qualified (ACA / ACCA) or equivalent.
16. Experience as a Senior or Supervisor managing a small portfolio.
17. Strong experience preparing company accounts (FRS 102 1A) and corporate tax returns.
18. Awareness of personal tax filings and ability to review or prepare VAT returns.
19. Confident communicator with the ability to build strong, trusted client relationships.
20. Competent with MS Office and cloud accounting packages (Xero essential; knowledge of Iris, Alpha, QuickBooks or Sage an advantage).
