Heritage Painter and Decorator (Self-employed Subcontractor)
Minimum requirements (please only apply if you meet these)
* Minimum 5 years experience as a painter and decorator (heritage experience strongly preferred)
* Based in Surrey or West Sussex (or very close by with easy access to these areas)
* Own van essential, in good working order and good condition, to maintain a professional image on site
* Own tools and ladders required (suitable for professional decorating work)
* Able to work independently and manage your own workload
Pay: £25 per hour (equivalent to £1,000 per week based on 40 hours)
Additional earning: Opportunity to earn more through price work
Hours: 40 hours per week

About the role
Due to ongoing demand, we are looking for experienced heritage painters and decorators to support the delivery of high-quality heritage contracts. You will work on well managed projects where attention to detail and an excellent standard of finish are essential.
This is a hands-on role where you must be confident working independently, taking responsibility for your own workload, and representing the business professionally on site.
Key duties
* Prepare surfaces properly, including filling, sanding, repairs and priming
* Paint and decorate to a high standard across interior and exterior areas
* Work carefully in heritage properties, protecting existing features and finishes
* Keep the work area tidy and safe, including daily clean down
* Communicate professionally with clients and provide progress updates when needed
* Complete work to agreed deadlines and specifications
