Are you an experienced Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker wanting control and flexibility to work the shifts you want? You can join our staff bank and, after completing a paid two-week induction, access shifts at Thornford Park Hospital in Thatcham, with potential future options to work bank shifts regionally at other Elysium services across the region. There is no minimum number of hours required, though it is recommended to work regularly to retain induction knowledge and familiarity with the service.
Weekdays, nights and weekend shifts are regularly available and bookable via an app. Shifts include a 12.07% uplift to cover annual leave, and you’ll have access to a range of benefits including free meals on duty and free parking.

You will join a team that provides care for people with a range of Mental Health conditions. Whether you are currently a Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker or Care Worker, you will use your experience to help people lead a valued and fulfilled life. A positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important in this environment, which can be challenging but is highly rewarding as you see people improve because of your support.

The service operates 24/7 with 12.5 hour standard shifts. As a Bank Healthcare Assistant you’ll be on a zero hour contract, giving you the freedom to choose the shifts you want to work each week.
Where You Will Be Working
Location: Crookham Hill, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 8ET
You will be working at Thornford Park, a 130-bed independent hospital supporting service users requiring medium and low secure Forensic Mental Health Services, with an additional PICU Mental Health Service. The service provides a seamless internal care pathway supporting recovery and rehabilitation. You will work alongside the multidisciplinary team to provide personalised assessment and treatment programmes for males with mental illness/complex care needs, as well as those with personality disorder, and males and females in a PICU service.
