The Deputy Directorof Estates and Facilities is responsible for the strategic andoperational
management of the Trusts Estates andFacilities functions to support the delivery of highqualityhealthcare and for the development of services in accordance withthe Trusts
strategies and corporate objectives.
The post holder provides strategicdirection and advice on the estate ensuring that the built
environment is safe for patients visitors and staff isfit for the future is managed effectively
and efficientlyand adapts to changing healthcare needs. The Deputy Director ofEstates and
Facilities holds corporate and professionalresponsibility for estates and facilities service
standards governance policies financial managementstatutory and regulatory compliance
and risk management.The provision of assurance to the Trust Board and Trust Committees
for theestate.
Scope andrange:
This is a senior role inthe organisation that has the overarching daytoday and longtermstrategic responsibility for the safety security and management ofthe built environment. Building and developing a team to deliverwill be a critical success factor to support them to deliver thefollowing duties and responsibilities:
* Development of the Trusts estatestrategy aligned to the clinical and corporate strategies;
* Capital project planning for redevelopmentbacklog and estate investment;
* Capital projectdelivery including majorprojects;
* Organisations estates infrastructureand master planning;
* Estates management(Mechanical electrical & building maintenance minor newworks energy & utilities decarbonisation fire safetyproperty land & leases grounds & gardensadministration and help desk);
* Facilitiesmanagement (all hotel services including patient mealservice/catering residences/accommodation security/LSMS accesscontrol/ID badges portering car
parking nonpatienttransport/logistics domestic services/cleaning wastegraphics
and materialsmanagement);
* Commercial services (all leasesbed provision security laundry and retailprovision)
Statutory compliance assurance risk managementand governance for the built
environment.
Workforcemanagement:
* Professional lead for estates and facilities staff andservices;
* Professional lead for Health andSafety and Fire compliance;
* Information andreporting for estates and facilities functions includingmaintaining and
developing the Trusts CAFM system PAM andERIC;
* Budget management (capital and revenue)to achieve best value andefficiencies;
* Development of strategies andpolicies for the directorate;
* To monitor reportand continually develop the Trusts Green Plan.
