This is a supportive and inclusive school dedicated to ensuring that every child receives the best possible education, regardless of their individual needs. We are looking for a compassionate and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to achieve their full potential both academically and socially. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support students with special educational needs.
* Provide one-to-one or small-group support to students with a range of learning difficulties, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language needs.
* Assist in adapting lesson materials and activities to suit the needs of individual students.
* Support students in developing their social and communication skills, fostering independence and confidence.
* Help manage classroom behaviour and provide emotional support to students when needed.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to individual education plans (IEPs).
* Assist with personal care tasks if required.
* Encourage an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students with SEN.
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Experience working with children, preferably those with special educational needs.
* A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant or SEN-related qualification (desirable but not essential).
* A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to supporting children’s learning and wellbeing as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
* Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* Understanding of different SEN conditions and strategies for supporting students.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
