The Department has a substantial research programme, with major funding from Medical Research Council (MRC), Wellcome Trust and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and provides highly rated medical training in psychiatry. The Head of Department is Professor Belinda Lennox. The Reception and Facilities Assistant will work as part of a small facilities team in the Department of Psychiatry, carrying out a range of reception / front of house, administrative and maintenance tasks. The team comprises 4 staff: Buildings and Facilities Manager, Facilities Officer; and two Facilities/Reception Assistants (including this post). The post is full time however consideration would be given to candidates wishing to work part-time on a pro-rata basis (minimum 80% FTE). Due to the on-site focus of this role, it is not possible to accommodate flexible working requests for remote or hybrid working. You will staff the reception desk, welcome visitors and deal with routine queries, ensuring a smart professional first point of contact. As a member of the facilities team, you will handle and resolve building and maintenance issues and manage the setup of rooms for meetings and events including the set up of AV equipment.
