About You
We are currently looking to recruit a confident, committed, and ambitious Development Manager to our existing multi-disciplined Northern Division Development Team.
You will have proven development management experience, including an ability to oversee the entire lifecycle of the development process, ideally within a housebuilding, private practice, or engineering environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project, Design or Technical Coordinator or Development Manager who is eager to progress their career and develop further expertise in planning and managing all design and technical elements of development project throughout its lifecycle.
Intellectually agile with excellent analytical and reasoning abilities, a positive strategic approach and being adaptable are highly sought-after attributes for this role.
The Role
As a focused Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of a portfolio of sites in the development phase, from acquisition of the land through construction delivery and to First Occupation and developing bid plans that optimise our ability to secure these works; you’ll pro-actively support the development of relationships with potential partners and clients; and you will be expected to maximise the flow of income to the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to ensure the projects happen on-time, on-budget and most importantly in-line with their standards. As Development Manager you will understand what it takes to provide accurate development appraisals, create masterplans, build design teams, secure planning, oversee construction activity and reach financial agreements.

The role is primarily based in either our York or Altrincham office and will require travel to sites across the North East,.

YOUR ATTRIBUTES
You will have:
* Degree level qualification in architecture or another appropriate subject is desirable.
* RIBA, CIAT or IPMA qualified or working towards is desirable.
* CSCS yellow card essential. Black card desirable
* Project Management skills
* Technical and design development proficiency
* Experience of managing planning applications is desirable but not essential
* Financial acumen/cost management skills
You will bring:
* Strong negotiation, influencing and communication skills
* Excellent planning, project management, organisation and decision-making capability
* Gravitas and confidence when meeting with vendors
* Positive strategic approach
* Innovation and lateral thinking
* Experience in dealing with local and statutory authorities
