We’re looking for an experienced Sheltered Housing Officer to deliver a high-quality, person-centred service within housing for older people and specialist schemes. This is a rewarding, site-based role where no two days are the same.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Delivering tailored, outcome-focused support that empowers residents to live independently
2. Managing complex casework including safeguarding, domestic abuse, mental health, hoarding, anti-social behaviour and substance misuse
3. Providing a visible, responsive on-site presence through effective lone working
4. Ensuring schemes are safe and compliant through regular inspections, testing and robust health & fire safety management
5. Managing property-related issues and maintaining high standards across dwellings and communal areas
6. Mediating disputes and fostering a safe, inclusive community environment
7. Working flexibly to deliver a tenure-blind, whole-place offer that meets the needs of residents and the wider community
8. Contributing to continuous service improvement in line with legislation and local policy
What we’re looking for:
9. Experience in sheltered, supported or older persons housing
10. Strong case management and safeguarding knowledge
11. Confidence in lone working and managing competing priorities
12. Solid understanding of housing management and health & safety compliance
13. A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent communication skills
