About Us:
Kent Business College is a dynamic training provider specialising in professional apprenticeships across Project Controls, Project Management, and Digital Marketing. We deliver fully funded Level 6 programmes, combining academic rigour with hands-on professional development. As part of our expansion, we are seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development Manager to lead employer engagement for our Project Control Professional Apprenticeship (Level 6), funded by the Department for Education.
Purpose of the Role:
This role is central to our growth strategy. You will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and onboarding employers who would benefit from upskilling their workforce through our Project Control Professional apprenticeship programme.
Your focus will be on B2B sales, stakeholder engagement, and strategic relationship management, targeting key sectors such as construction, engineering, infrastructure, and transport.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify, target, and engage new employer partners through outbound campaigns, LinkedIn, industry events, and warm leads
* Attend relevant networking events, trade shows, and conferences to represent the college and generate leads
* Book and lead sales meetings with HR, L&D, Operations, or Apprenticeship Leads to present our offering
* Build long-term relationships with employers, understanding their needs and aligning apprenticeship solutions accordingly
* Manage the full business development cycle: lead generation → pitch → objection handling → agreement signing → internal handover
* Work closely with compliance and curriculum teams to ensure smooth employer and learner onboarding
* Maintain accurate records in CRM (Zoho or equivalent) and report weekly KPIs
* Meet monthly and quarterly sales targets linked to learner starts and employer sign-ups
Key Skills & Attributes:
* Strong B2B sales background, ideally in education, training, or apprenticeship sectors
* Confidence and gravitas to liaise with senior stakeholders in corporate and public-sector organisations
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
* Ability to manage your own pipeline, diary, and targets with minimal supervision
* Passion for professional development, workforce upskilling, and employer partnerships
* Tenacious, proactive, and solution-focused mindset
Desirable Experience:
* Experience working in or selling to industries such as: infrastructure, utilities, engineering, rail, or construction
* Familiarity with apprenticeship funding rules, DAS, and ILR compliance
* Knowledge of Project Control, Project Management, or similar disciplines
* Experience using CRM tools such as Zoho, HubSpot, or Salesforce
Working Arrangements:
* Hybrid working (1–2 days in-office preferred, rest remote or field-based)
* Travel to employer sites and events is expected (mileage reimbursed)
* Flexible hours available, with autonomy over diary management
